Frequently Asked Questions
What do you charge for photography services?
I offer a variety of photo packages with varying amounts of time, number of photos delivered and add ons. My photo packages currently start at $200. Please contact me to request full pricing info.
What kind of photography do you do?
I do weddings, couples/engagement photos, family portraits, senior/grad portraits, corporate headshots, event coverage and commercial and social media photography. I’m open to hearing about any and all photography needs. I also shoot and develop 35mm film.
What should I wear to my photo session?
Avoid busy patterns and all black, colors that compliment each other are better than matching and flowy dresses always photograph well. Most importantly, wear something you'll feel comfortable in! If you have questions about a specific outfit, I am happy to help!
What time of day should I schedule my photo sessions?
I HIGHLY recommend taking photos an hour before sunset or right at sunrise. You just can’t beat the lighting at those times of day and utilizing natural lighting is the key to the style of photos I capture. Of course, there are exceptions, such as indoor photo sessions and events, and I will happily comply with your timing requests. However, sunset or sunrise is when I typically schedule my sessions.
Do you send raw images?
No, I will deliver your edited photos in a photo gallery. I never release raw images.
How will I receive my photos?
I will send your edited photos in a photo gallery to the email address you provide. From there, you will be able to download any and all photos that you’d like for eight weeks. You’re also free to share the password-protected gallery with friends and family. After eight weeks, the photo gallery will disappear.
Where do you take photos?
I take photos in Austin and San Antonio and anywhere in between without any added travel costs! Anywhere outside those areas are subject to travel costs. I have varying availability in each city.
Can I bring my dog(s) to a photo session?
I would be THRILLED if you brought your dog to a photo session. Please give me a heads up if that’s your plan. Here are my recommendations when taking photos with a furry friend:
Bring along someone to hold them if they won’t be in every single photo
Don’t forget to bring toys, treats or something that will capture their attention
I suggest neutral tone leashes and collars to not distract the eye
How far in advance should I book?
Especially in the spring, I book up very quickly. For photo sessions, I would recommend booking at least three to four months prior to when you would like to receive your photos. For weddings, I would recommend booking six months or more in advance. During the summer and winter, I can sometimes accommodate last minute photo sessions. No matter what, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule!
Do you do this full time?
No, I do not do this full time! I do photography part time, mostly on weekends, in addition to working full time. It works out well because most events and weddings are on weekends and the best time to take photos is usually around sunset and sunrise, which are outside of work hours. Plus, most of my clients work full time as well and aren’t able to take photos during work hours. I do spend many weeknights editing and I LOVE editing, so I don’t mind it. I am also a SMALL business- it’s just me. I don’t have a social media manager or accountant or assistant, I do it all on my own! Overall, I just love being a photographer and none of this feels like work to me, I’m having fun every second of it.
